How to: Open several files at a time in Excel.
Solution:
Select 'Open' from the 'File' menu and use the CTRL or SHIFT keys to select additional files to be opened.
1) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The Open dialog box appears.)
2) Select the drive that contains the desired files from the 'Look in' drop-down list. (A list of all the folders and files within the drive is displayed.)
3) (Optional) Open the folder that contains the desired files:
a) Click on the folder.
b) Click 'Open'.
NOTE: If the desired files are in one of the subfolders, repeat Step 3) until the names of the files are displayed.
4) Select the first file to open.
5) Do one of the following to select all the other files:
a) Hold down CTRL while clicking on the other files.
NOTE: This selects nonadjacent files from the list.
b) Hold down SHIFT and click on the last file to open.
NOTE: All files listed between the first and the last are selected.
6) Click 'Open'.
NOTE: Up to twenty-three (23) files can be selected and opened at once.
